1. Any action considered to be unsafe or detrimental to the event will be cause for the offending person and/or unit to be asked to leave.
2. Uniforms, weapons and overall impressions will be kept
to the era. There will be no self-expression allowed.
4. Officers Call is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday/Sunday. Units
that do not attend will not be allowed on the field that day.
5. Persons under 18 years of age will require
a parent's signature to participate. No one under 14 years of age will be allowed
to carry weapons on the field with direct parent supervision. (Loaded or unloaded).
6.
All participants will be required to present
proof of age prior to registering.
7. No Weapons will be discharged in the camp area ... weapons will be cleared
in the battlefield area.
8. Horses are required to have a current coggins and health certificate (if
from out of state).
9. NO stallions allowed. Out of control animals will require the responsible
person/unit to leave.
11. No Western furniture will be allowed at the event, only military issued
equipment is to be used or displayed.
12. Vehicles will be allowed in the camp area to drop off or pickup equipment
during specified hours: but are not allowed to remain in the area.
13. The use of bayonets or hand-to-hand will be restricted to designated units.
14. No rank above Captain will be allowed on the field unless pre-approved by
the Battlefield Co-ordinator.
15. Children must be supervised at all times during the event.
16. No ATV's, golf carts, or other recreational vehicles on site unless pre-designated
for safety and/or the use of the staff.
17. No non-registered personnel are allowed to handle weapons, ride horses,
or participate in the activities during this event.
18. Alcohol is FORBIDDEN! Please respect the memory of our ancestors.
19. There will be a Soldier's Ball. The Soldier's Ball will require Uniforms
and ballgowns, period Civilian attire, No hats, weapons, spurs will be allowed.
All children must be attended by a parent and must be in period dress.
20. These rules are set for the safety of all those attending the event and
will not be overlooked. Those that do not wish to abide by the rules will be
required to leave the site and asked not to return in the future.
21. No photographs can be taken for purpose of selling for profit. NO EXCEPTIONS.
22. The Field Commander & Gladeville Reenactment Committee will make the
final decision and is the untimate authority during this event.
That I, ___________________________________________, for the sole consideration
of the privilege of participating in the War Between the States Reenactment
on the property in Wise, County, Virginia have released and discharged and by
these presents do bind myself, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns,
release and forever discharge the Ben Caudill Camp #1629, Town of Wise, Wise
County Historical Society, Appalachian Children's Theatre, or anyone acting
in their behalf, of and from any and all claims, demand, damages, actions, cause
of action, or suits of law or in equity, or whatsoever kind or nature for/and
because of any manner done, omitted, or suffered to be done by previously stated
agencies or anyone acting on their behalf arising from or associated with my
presence on said property and travel to and from said property, including but
not limited to all claims for personal injury or property damage, whether sounding
in contract, or in tort.
I understand and acknowledge that might the afore mentioned agencies any health, accident or liability insurance to cover any injury (including death) or property damage I may cause or suffer while participating in the afore-mentioned reenactment and I agree to bear the responsibility of obtaining such insurance or paying any such injury or damage myself.
My signature below indicates that I have had sufficient opportunity to read
this entire document, that I have read it, and that I understand it affects
my legal rights and that I agree to be bound by its terms on behalf of myself,
my heirs, assigns, and personal representatives and estate.
